What We Do:
The LearningHUB offers opportunity for acquisition of Basic and Essential Skills in software development through three learning options; independent, flexible and intensive.
Learners can demand for tutelage regarding specific modules and one-on-one classes are organized for such requirement. It can be done at the HUB or an agreed location with the learner. Schedules are for a specific dates and times as agreed.
Learners can register for this study which is a combination of practical and theoretical classes. This mode of study takes place at the HUB and requires the learner to partake in a project at the end of the curriculum. Courses are available for a specific dates and times of the week.
This study mode is popular with learners who prefer to work on their own, at their own pace. We will only provide the material and the environment.
About Basic & Essential Skills:
Basic skills are foundational skills developers need to function. These skills include everything from Reading Text, Document Use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral Communication, Working with Others, Continuous Learning and Computer Appreciation. These skills are necessary for documentation (producing business requirement document (BRD). BRDs are the foundation of application development.
Essential Skills is another way to talk about analysis & design, and programming/coding skills. Other essential skills include: Thinking - problem solving, critical thinking, decision making, job task planning, organizing, significant use of memory and finding information. These are the skills developers need for function as programmers in addition to the basic ones.
We offer opportunity and an enabling environment for learners to acquire and demonstrate understanding of both the basic and essential skills for self-management and self-direction. Furthermore, mastery of these skills will increase opportunities to find better jobs, maintain employment and confidence to make positive life choices.
LearningHUB Practitioners are both basic and essential skills professionals with a passion for impacting knowledge and a desire to mentor learners through to completion of their goals. Our success is measured by our learners' accomplishments.
We have a number of full-time, part-time and supply practitioners who make it possible for the HUB to offer a large course inventory.
When you register with the LearningHUB, you are taking the first step on your path to success. We will help you get ready for work, further your education and gain the confidence you need to reach your goal. If you can do it, then we can help!
This is a web application development platform originally designed to make connectivity by HTML to databases possible. This is done through an integrated development environment using a scripting language such as Perl or Python.
Java is a general-purpose computer programming language that is concurrent, class-based, object-oriented, and specifically designed to have as few implementation dependencies as possible. It is intended to let application developers "write once, run anywhere" (WORA), meaning that compiled Java code can run on all platforms that support Java without the need for recompilation. One design goal of Java is portability, which means that programs written for the Java platform must run similarly on any combination of hardware and operating system with adequate runtime support.
C sharp is a multi-paradigm programming language encompassing strong typing, imperative, declarative, functional, generic, object-oriented (class-based), and component-oriented programming disciplines. It was developed by Microsoft within its .NET initiative and later approved as a standard. C# is one of the programming languages designed for the Common Language Infrastructure. C# is a general-purpose, object-oriented programming language.
.NET Framework (pronounced dot net) is a software framework developed by Microsoft® that runs primarily on Microsoft Windows®. It includes a large class library known as Framework Class Library (FCL) and provides language interoperability (each language can use code written in other languages) across several programming languages. Programs written for .NET Framework execute in a software environment (as contrasted to hardware environment) known as Common Language Runtime (CLR), an application virtual machine that provides services such as security, memory management, and exception handling. FCL and CLR together constitute .NET Framework.
HTML elements form the building blocks of HTML pages. HTML allows images and other objects to be embedded and it can be used to create interactive forms. It provides a means to create structured documents by denoting structural semantics for text such as headings, paragraphs, lists, links, quotes and other items
